The Resident Representative makes ultimate decisions on all programme and administrative matters of UNDP at national level, in line with UNDP’s programming and operational rules and procedures.
She is delegated by UNDP’s headquarters for contracting of up to US$100,000, which could be delegated further to senior staff of UNDP Country Office. She exercises strategic leadership in ensuring the formulation and implementation of UNDP’s Country Programme in consultation with key stakeholders, and in mobilizing donor support to it.
The UNDP Resident Representative also serves as UN Resident Coordinator, providing leadership over all UN agencies present in the country.
